Cammell Laird post match reaction

Gary Hazlehurst caught up with manager, Kevin Weldon to get his reaction to the win over Cammell Laird 1907

"Obviously we are pleased to the three points and get off the mark.

We had 7 players not available due to holidays, injuries and isolating today along with Jamie Weldon who was only 50% fit due to injury. A lot of clubs would have tried to call the game off and hide behind COVID but we didn’t and the lads who came in today stepped up and showed how much they want to play for the club.

It was a game of two halves really. The 1st half we were the dominate team and we looked like we could make something happen every time we went forward. Second half we never really got going and the visitors had the better of the half. The last 15 we were too deep as naturally we were content to keep what we’d got but defended well and came away with the three points.

Credit to the players today they gave everything and deserved the win

The atmosphere in the dressing room is buzzing and hopefully the lads enjoy the night after a tough week and we look forward to next Saturday"

The next game for the Badgers is away to Abbey Hey next Saturday
